Yoga Class Descriptions

STAND UP PADDLEBOARD YOGA CLASSES :

 Learn to SUP Yoga  SERIES and WORKSHOP ONLY

If you love Yoga, you will adore practicing in Nature’s studio on the water.  This course is designed to get you comfortable on the water and board over 3 – 1 hour sessions OR one 2 hour single session. Perfect for beginners, our fabulous instructors will start with beach theory and every class will build on skills from the last until you are confident and capable. Basic SUP paddling skills and safety with our SUP instructor are included in your first session. No need to book a separate lesson! Booking yourself into this series is the best way to start your practice on the water!

Classes will run light rain or shine. If inclement conditions exist we will either run a beach class or reschedule (at our discretion). Participants must have basic swimming skills and be a minimum of 12 years old.

BONUS: Every participant will receive one class and one individual photo on the water that will be emailed to them. 

SUP Ebb & Flow  

As with all tides of life we ebb and flow. Everywhere in nature, there is a pairing of opposites: the push and pull of gravity, the positive and negative charge of electricity, the light and dark of lunar cycles. Just as the tides ebb and flow in an inward and outward motion of waves on your stand up paddleboard, so too does the breath move: upward, inhaling new energy and life; and downward, exhaling that which is not serving. Join this class where you will integrate mind, body and breath, seeking balance in the opposites of movement and stillness, tension and release while . A great way to discover and integrate Natures cycles and tune yourself to your surroundings.

SUP Stretch & Sculpt

Combining deep stretches with long holds on the tranquility of the water makes for an amazing experience! Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced yogi, our SUP Stretch & Sculpt class on the Stand up Paddleboard promises to tone and strengthen your entire body, mind, and spirit.   There are no standing postures in this class.  All levels welcome!

SUP Slow Flow** 

Experience our specially created Slow Flow class on the Stand-up paddleboard!  In this floating class, sun salutations and asanas (postures) are slowed in order to maintain balance in the water and on our boards. Class finishes with a savasana (relaxation) on the water making it extra sweet!   All levels welcome.

Mindful Paddles & Floating Meditation  NEW FOR 2017

join us for this wonderful Summer experience that offers something for everyone. Our instructor will slowly lead the group along the edges of the lake, pausing to take in all the wonder nature has to offer. Let go of your stress and live in the moment while we gently bob on the lake. No standing required, you may simply sit or kneel and paddle if you wish. The last 25 minutes of class will be spent in savasana…laying on your board as we all link together to float with our eyes closed across the lake. The instructor will guide the meditation and the floating group. Simply devine <3

 

BEACH & PARK YOGA  CLASSES:

Yoga Basics  SERIES AND INDIVIDUAL CLASSES

Are you new to yoga or looking to improve your technique? If so, this Yoga Fundamentals Flow class gives you everything that you need to start your practice! Get geared up for a class that works from the ground up, teaching the basics in alignment, breath and focus that are fundamentally necessary for anyone. This class is a doorway for beginners looking to understand and explore the basics of practicing yoga, or for those with some experience looking to revisit essential alignment, flow and breath-work principles. This class will be flowing & active teaching the basics of sun salutations, foundation of yoga postures, shapes and the importance of connecting with the breath. Come explore the fundamentals of yoga in a safe, supportive environment while building strength and skill!

Hatha – SERIES AND INDIVIDUAL CLASSES 

These classes focus heavily on alignment, breath work and moving through your practice in a mindful way. Each instructor will bring her own style to the class depending on their expertise. (ie Vinyasa, Anusara or Ashtanga) A perfect all around class for those starting out or already practicing.

 Vinyasa Flow Level I & II  SERIES AND INDIVIDUAL CLASSES 

Our instructors will guide students in a breath synchronized Vinyasa Flow class, and how appropriate with the gentle sounds of the waves as a background!  Vinyasa Yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa Flow sequences are both smoothly flowing and dance like as well as offering a challenge. Our knowledgeable Yogi’s  will instruct you as to proper alignment and modifications, if needed.  Students love the way we are able to blend the philosophy of yoga & have fun! You always walk feeling better than when you first came. Students of all levels are welcomed and encouraged to come practice in a beautiful , and safe environment.

Healing Yoga – SERIES ONLY 

Pay attention to the whispers and communication of the body through each movement and breath. This class is slow, deeply nurturing and suitable for all levels. Each class includes a warm-up sequence and relaxation before slowing down to investigate the anatomy, alignment and experience of each asana (pose). To cultivate therapeutic results, classes will focus on the breath, encourage a slow pace, as well as gentle movements and stretches in order to remove imbalances and bring back intelligence to the muscles, postural awareness and physical body. Every class is theme oriented – geared to focus on a specific area (i.e. shoulders, back, neck, hips). Suitable for all levels and abilities.

Get Beach Ready Yoga Series  – SERIES ONLY 

Give your whole bottom half a workout with our GET BEACH READY  class! This class is a  vinyasa yoga flow designed to tone and sculpt your abs, booty and thighs! With a combination of strength, power and endurance start to flow through a sequence of poses and exercises designed to create longer, lean looking muscles and a more defined core. This fun class is sure to make you sweat and challenges practitioners of all levels. You will feel refreshed, lean and ready for the beach in no time!

Detox Yoga INDIVIDUAL CLASS ONLY

Spring & Summer are a great time to cleanse your body and mind after a long hard Canadian winter! Join our instructor for an invigorating series of classes that will help cleanse the body of built up toxins. This series of classes will take you through sun salutations A & B with a blend of creative twisting, compressing,stretching & sequences. This series also incorporates meditation techniques breathing exercises. Be prepared to sweat and leave feeling empowered, renewed and completely rejuvenated!

Stretch into Wellness SERIES ONLY 

Our stretch and sculpt class focus on slow, deep stretching of all areas of the body. Deep stretching combined with long holds is a beautiful way to increase flexibility and strengthen & tone the entire body. Series will be customized to enrolled participants needs! A fantastic way to work out the kinks of a long hard Canadian winter and get you ready to take on the world. This session  Suitable for all levels including beginners, athletes and advanced practitioners seeking a slower paced class.

Runners and Bikers Stretch- SERIES ONLY 

The perfect class for anyone that runs or bikes. This session is specifically designed to help stretch and open all the muscles groups associated with these sports including hips, hamstrings, quads,knees, calves, chest and shoulders! This class will increase your flexibility and strength, improve circulation and help prevent injuries that are common to running and biking sports. A perfect compliment to your pre or post workout/routine!

 Sunset Ebb & Flow SERIES ONLY AND SINGLES

Yin/Yang  SERIES ONLY 

This practice contains two elements to the class; the beginning half of the class will take you through the Yang portion, which is a fast paced, energetic flow  The Yin aspect of Yoga uses long-held relaxed floor postures to stretch and stimulate the “Yin” or deep connective tissues of the body. This gentle practice will increase your flexibility, opening your hips, lower back and shoulders and will enhance your overall sense of well-being.  It is a wonderful complement to other yoga practices.
